How to format a Figure

Students in Science Seven practice how to record what they observe many different ways. Learning to record what one observes in a figure is a skill that we build throughout the year. While mastering this skill, students build their powers of observation and the ability to understand and analyze what one is actually seeing at a higher level.

A properly laid out picture can save 1000 words!! That's why it is so important in science to learn how to draw, or illustrate complex and important things that you see.

In science a drawing is called a Scientific Illustration. When it becomes published in a report, or text, the entire Scientific Illustration is called a Figure and given a number and a title, like Figure One below.
